My Vision

My four-point vision for the town is simple:

Connection | Checks & Balances | Collaboration | Safety

Connection: We must bring "The Forgotten North" back into the LCS community and remind those residents that they are an important part of this community and that their voices matter. A couple of ideas come to my mind: First, add more town signage for special upcoming events and meetings. Second, incorporate the North and South neighborhoods in all Town parades.

Checks & Balances: Create a running list of questions, solutions, and updates using technology. We need a better way of communicating with residents, along with tracking their requests. It should be a system where requests can easily be reviewed by the resident and updated by the Town. This way, residents can check the progress of their request. Additionally, residents should feel they have a voice. Ensuring that decisions like the sewer conversion be put to a vote and allow residents to have a say via their vote on the final decision.

Collaboration: My hope is for our residents to view our police officers beyond the officer who gave them a citation or drives the nice SUV that use a lot of gas. I want the residents and the police department to see one another as trustworthy partners who have a relationship and a vested interest in keeping our community safe and secure. For example, the police department could host a pickleball tournament on the new courts at Community Park. This will give residents a chance to put faces to the names of all the officers, resulting in more trust and a greater appreciation for our officers.

Safety: Lastly, I think about the safety of my 12-year-old daughter, Bella. I want her to be able to walk our dog, Lady, around the neighborhood safely without walking through pitch-black pockets of our town. It is easier for drivers to see people walking on well-lit streets. Adequate street lighting would also prevent crime. One of the things I noticed when we first moved into our home was the decorative road signage on the street posts. I felt the signage was a small example of why LCS is a great town. Later, I noticed that not all the street signs have been updated. The town should finish installing the updated street signage and additional lighting where needed. This would be a great addition, not only for the look and feel of the town, but more importantly for the safety of the residents and our families.

My vision will cost money. However, I believe the relationships I have developed over the years while serving this community, as well as the relationships I have built during my 14 years in the financial industry, will help the town responsibly secure the necessary funding to implement and manage these projects I have shared.
