District 87 Rallies Behind Jon Maples in Resounding Primary Victory

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL — Tuesday night belonged to the people of District 87.

Jon Maples secured a resounding victory in the Republican Primary for Florida House District 87, earning 76.92% of the vote with 10,483 votes to Jonathan Rubin’s 3,146.

But the numbers tell only part of the story.

Across District 87, neighbors, families, small business owners, volunteers and community leaders came together around the issues affecting their own backyards — affordability, rising insurance costs, responsible growth, safer communities, strong schools, protecting our beaches and waterways, and making sure the people who live here have a voice in Tallahassee.

For months, Jon has been doing something simple: listening.

He has walked neighborhoods, sat in living rooms, attended community meetings, cleaned beaches alongside neighbors and heard directly from the people who call District 87 home.

Again and again, the message has been the same: people want leadership grounded in common sense. They want someone who will listen before leading and who understands that the decisions made in Tallahassee ultimately affect families right here at home.

On Tuesday, those conversations turned into action.

A Community That Showed Up

The energy surrounding Election Day was electric.

Volunteers spread across the district, supporters held signs, made calls, sent texts, talked to neighbors and encouraged friends and family members to vote. From the opening of the polls until the final votes were cast, the enthusiasm was impossible to miss.

This victory belongs to every person who knocked on a door, made a phone call, held a sign, shared a message, prayed for the campaign, talked to a neighbor or simply showed up and voted.

And one grassroots effort in particular proved just how powerful personal relationships can be.

The +10 Movement Worked

Throughout the campaign, Team Maples challenged supporters to do more than cast their own ballot.

The challenge was simple: Find your +10.

Talk to ten friends, family members or neighbors. Make sure they understand what is at stake. Remind them to vote. Hold one another accountable. And then make sure all ten actually get to the polls.

Tuesday showed what happens when people take that responsibility seriously.

Supporters across District 87 embraced their +10, reached out to the people in their lives and helped turn individual support into a community-wide movement.

It worked.

Now we have to do it again.

November 3: We Finish What We Started

Tuesday was an incredible victory, but it was not the finish line.

Jon Maples now advances to the November 3 General Election, where he will face incumbent Democrat Emily Gregory for Florida House District 87.

The mission between now and November is bigger, and we need this community more than ever.

We need every person who found their +10 for the primary to keep them together — and then grow the movement.

We need volunteers. We need neighbors willing to host yard signs. We need families willing to open their homes for Meet & Greets. We need supporters willing to host fundraisers, knock doors, make calls, talk to their neighborhoods and help us continue building this movement one conversation at a time.

Most importantly, we need the people of District 87 to continue showing up for the community we all call home.

Tuesday proved what can happen when neighbors come together around a shared belief that our community deserves leadership that listens, uses common sense and puts the people of District 87 first.

The community rallied. The +10 Movement worked. And the energy is only growing.
